The MPO recently allocated STP-DA grant funding for the development of bicycle education materials for the Durham community. These materials cover basic bike commuter information, bike safety, motorist safety, and North Carolina bike laws. Contact Alison Carpenter (919-560-4366) to order copies of these materials, or download the items below for distribution.
The Basic Bike Commuting Guide (4 MB) offers local information and resources to individuals who are interested in commuting by bike to work or school. Find out what to wear, where to find a bike shop, how to load your bike on the bus, and more!
The Bike Safety for Motorists (3 MB) brochure gives tips to motorists on how to 'Share the Road' safely with bicyclists, and what to expect from bicyclists on the roadway.
The Bike Law Card (153 KB) offers interpretations for bicyclists and motorists of North Carolina and local laws, as related to bicycling.
